I am what they call a small town country girl from Natchitoches, Louisiana. I was predominantly raised by my grandmother. She started teaching me how to cook at the ripe age of eight. I was so intrigued by the wonderful aromas and taste that she would put together from nearly nothing. She instilled the art of cooking that left a major print of love and talent on my heart. There are so many people out there who merely cook. There are not many who cook with love. That takes a certain type of care. When you cook with your heart, the food tastes good to your very soul. I wanted to do just that. I wanted your feet to tap and your toes to curl when you tasted my dishes. I wanted customers to have a sense of satisfaction that feels like your soul has been saturated with love. I want folks to experience food that they know has been prepared with love and a sense of care and maturity. Just like grandma used to make. That is why I started Grown Folks Cakes and Catering. I want you to experience food. I want you to experience a delectable piece of cake. I want you to savor the fresh fried catfish. I want you to remember every dish that comes out of my kitchen.
